Route 1 – Inside the Castle – Walk by Tavira past

Route 1 – Inside the Castle

In this short route of 30 minutes, we are going to meet the inside of Tavira Castle, entering by one of the old gates (Porta dos Pelames), walking up the hill crossing the Palacio da Galeria, and the two parochial churches of the City: Santa Maria and Santiago . Then we’re going inside the old alcazaba, the inner fortress inside the walls. We are going to exit the castle through the Alfeição Gate, that exits on the Rua da Liberdade, the main street that comes from the city centre.
